I’m pretty sure that’s incorrect. If I remember correctly, they’ve said in interviews that it was inspired in a guy from their high-school that had a drunk driving accident that caused his best friend’s death.
Those kind of accidents are definitely one of the worst ways of losing someone you care about, or your own life. So, please, dear followers don’t drink and drive, and never get in a car with someone drunk at the wheel.
